The Cutest Romantic Canoe Session
Hey guys! I recently had the chance to capture this amazing couples photos for their 1 year anniversary and to say I'm in love with how they turned out is an understatement! The moody tones on my private pond at sunset are swoon worthy.
I've recently started offering sessions on my 2.5 acre property and we have both a canoe and fishing boat that you can use on our pond. Keep an eye out for fathers day "fishing" sessions in the future! (find us with #odysseyproperty)
Back to the session though. Parker & Kirstin had the hard decision last year that so many other couples also had to make. They could either postpone their wedding or scale way down. They chose the latter and had a cute small wedding with just their closest family & friends.
They kept little touches from their original wedding theme of "Beauty & the Beast" like the enclosed red rose & red heels, & of course a red rose bouquet.
They exchanged vows at a family friends beautiful home in their backyard which was right on the river with a beautiful view of downtown jax in the distance. In true pandemic style, their officiant was able to officiate the wedding over an iPad propped up, which I'm sure is something they'll be able to tell their grandchildren one day. (given the kids of tomorrow still know what an iPad is😂) Here's a shot from the wedding!
Back to the session! I wanted to do something really fun for their one year so we styled the shoot with more of a boho camping vibe, I didn't realize when we were planning that a cold front was going to blow through the day before, so we added all of the fluffy goodness you see in the photos, a couples of blankets and pillows really added to the cozy lovey feel.

The sunset was on point and it wasn't windy like the previous couple of days so it turned out to be a pretty lovely night (minus the cold) My husband started a fire so we could keep warm while shooting but it added the great smokey effect in some of the shots too.

I've been wanting to play with light in my sessions lately so I waited until the sun was almost down and added some camping lanterns and the effect was GORGEOUS!
I'm so excited to be offering these canoe sessions at my property! It's a unique opportunity for a session that not every photographer can offer. They're open to everyone but I have limited availability because they're best taken at sunset which is always my first time slot booked.
